Based on experience I'd say bad CS is most often apparent. ie, change in color(darkening), cloudiness, taste etc.

Beyond that, I'm really not sure what other factors might contribute to bad CS so as to cause hair loss. Though I wouldn't rule out the possibility of the initial condition as a potential cause either. ie, skin conditions or reactions that may contribute to hair loss etc. Tweet
