everybody i need your thoughts!

Im consulting a conventional doctor who specialises in rare disease /dermatology and he is wanting to try something which at first made me very nervous and scared but after researching bait further in it didn't bother me... now the problem is I'm going the natural holistic treatment for the last 4 months and want to continue for another 3 months as i think my natropath really has the right desire to cure me. anyways if after a few more months i have failed. My new doc wants me to go on longterm prednisone. now yes your think his crazy your can't go on that for 1or 2 years! well you actually can and lots of people are on it on low dose aka 10mg or lower per day. they start on high dose 60mg for a few months then slowly tapper it down.. he believes that possibly tapering and reducing the inflammation over a long period(months may trigger a cellular change and switch or even put the chronic inflammation in re-mission.. Now at first i went on predinsone and only for 2 weeks and only for a low dose i think 20mg was max dose. anyways it did improve my inflammation and did bring a small improvement. now he believes the longer you reduce the inflammation the better the lips at a cellular level will have a chance to change. now i just thought i would put it through to everyone and get some responses. i know some people on here have said it does nothing and others have said it showed massive improvements but i don't think anybody has done it for lets say a whole year for example. now before the negative dampers come firing about all the bad effects i know there are potential bad side effects but i personally have spoke to people that have been on prednisole longer then a year and learn to adapt and improve the side effects and are quite positive about the drug being used under correct guidance.. now things like weight gain/moon face is common side effect but people say that they switch to a healthy Diet and don't have problem with weight and all that so I'm already on a very strict diet and I'm fairly thin so bait of weight won't bother me.. anyways if you don't know much about longterm prednisone do some research before you fire away. i know there bad but of course i wouldn't be contemplating them if i didn't have this! and also i believe in 2 years there will be better drugs available for inflammatory skin conditions aka dupilumab so does my new doc and its a matter of getting me through the next couple of years so i can live a normalise life! let me know ya thoughts cheers
