Candida Kills Unna, A Female Killer Whale at SeaWorld

The use of antimicrobial medications claims a captive whale. You'll note how it states that Unna died from a resistant strain of candida, which means that she had been treated with antifungals, which becomes necessary after treatment with antibiotics somewhere along the way.

Antimicrobial resistance is the 3rd leading cause to human health on the planet. I'm not sure where it ranks with killer whales.

Unna's death is a testimony to the mismanagement and risks that go with keeping animals captive.
