Re: Chrisb1's - two long fasts

honestly, I think I went too far with 29 days.
and I think the whole last week was a bit hard. ( trying to recall it) I felt great at about two weeks, and felt like I could go forever!

You were wise to end it at 28, since the body works best in 28 day cycles, and divisions thereof. 7/14/21... At 29 it was as if I was entering a whole other level. Sounds crazy, but that one extra day did put me into another deeper cycle. I remember it took me about five weeks before I felt strong again, and 'back to normal', after being back on food.

Looking back, I'd go much more simple, with the re-feeding. The tendency was to want to have too many different kinds of food, and I believe it's probably better to stick with mono-meals, esp. if it's the first long water fast.

For the next one, there were less symptoms, as I recall. But you can look back at my posts to be sure. I don't remember all the details now, since it was almost seven years ago. My sense is, it was like picking up where I left off. I was def. ready to break it at 21 days.

and since then, haven't felt compelled to do a longish one, although I must say, it was a once-in-a-lifetime thing, in so many ways, and I sometimes feel nostalgic for it.
The realization, for one thing, that "I am not the body" is something wondrous.

and, I've been feeling better and better since that first Wfast.
should add maybe, I'm almost living the intermittent fasting life, in that I eat almost always only one meal a day, or at least only in a five hour window or so. For my partner and I, that works out to be the evening meal. I'm quite sure (I mean generally, esp. in The West), we need far less food than we can imagine, and are mostly "starving to death", for minerals and live food, and toxifying ourselves with dead food. . .

My dream, which seems possible, is to get to a point of living on flowers and herbs, mainly, and fruits, nuts and seeds, with some vegetables.
