Water Fasting for 21 - 30 days


Day four of a 21 - 30 day fast here. Second fast in the last few years. First three days were a little tough. Usually at night. Weight loss and taste bud reset are my main intentions. Scales says Im 15lbs down today (263-249). Water weight sure, but it's still motivating. So much conflicting information about the proper way to do fasts. Some people say a little lemon, or seltzer water is fine to curb hunger. Others say add a pinch of Sea Salt every few days. Purists say anything other than flat water declines the benefits. Some say break a fast with diluted fruit juice or watermelon. Others says use veggie broth or even bone broth to maintain ketosis. Very little Science sourced to back any claims. Just experience and opinions to pull information from. Which is great to know what others who have shared this experience have gone through. But at the end of the day I feel that fasting is a very personal journey one takes with their own body. And by listening to your body and with common sense, there may not be only one true way to do this.

Should you have bowel movements during the fast? I had one on the morning of the first day but not since.

Any tips on knowing when pain and discomfort is just detox or healing? Or signal to break the fast?
