In Dr.Ginger Savely's new book she makes it very clear that there is only one way to diagnose morgellons - using a 60x to 100x mini microscope (only a few dollars on ebay) or something like the Proscope HR or HR2 (hundreds of $) to take pictures and send to doctors.
there is no lab test.
however, it is easy to see whether you have the filaments or not using the mini microscope. You are more likely to notice the filaments around nails. This makes it easier to diagnose morgellons than to diagnose most parasites and lyme disease. People should take advantage of that. the medical institutions cannot deny the diagnosis so easily. And if you have morgellons you have lyme disease too. Maybe this will help open up the health community to the realization of the endemic problem.
Dr. Kenny De Meirleir has been a world famous doctor on chronic fatigue syndrome. He recently said that cfs is turning out to be mainly lyme disease. I am sure the CDC knew this long ago. They sure didn't make things easy for our sick population.
The majority of people with morgellons are misdiagnosed.
