One reason why people break their fast early, like day 1, 2, or 3 is fear.
Fear of pain, fear of hunger.
We often think like this:
If I feel so much hunger and so much pain right now, at day 1, 2 or day 3 ... then it is sure feeling will be 5 times worse at day 5 and 10 times worse at day 10. It is just logical. No brainer !
It is like with walking.
If you feel leg pain after a very long walk, your legs only get worse after a double long walk, and even more worse after you walk 3 times as long.
It is 100% logical. No brainer ! It is based on all experience we have!
So, what is the point with all of this suffering, if it is only getting worse with every next day?
Why should I keep torturing myself?
Do I really hate myself so much ?
I better quit now, and enjoy some food, instead of continuing this terrible torture one more night, one more day, one more hour, one more minute.
And the moment you start thinking about having food inside your mouth, your body thinks food is coming, and your saliva starts accumulating in your mouth, and you are ready to eat or drink something.
And, why stop at that? Why not just take one piece ?
What is FEAR ?
That is what fear is, it is just a construction inside your brain. The reality is, most people lose almost all feeling of hunger on days 4 or 5, and from the day 4 fasting becomes much more easy, less torture, less food craving, more peace of mind.
Once your body goes into Ketosis, most if not all hunger is gone, and fasting can become an experience where you suddenly have a plenty of time to do things you usually don't do, like read books, or listen to audiobooks, listen to music, dance alone, sing, take long walks or to write, or to just meditate, and feel good!
So, if you know that the first 3 days are going to be really though, prepare for it mentally, expect hunger, expect to crave food, and know that it is not going to last forever!!!!
And, say to yourself: I can do it !
After all, it is just 3 days of your life, which is almost an infinitely short amount of time.
