Re: I am an alcoholic
I cannot offer much guidance as I need some myself, but I have a friend who is a heavy drinker (at least...and I do mean least....4 cocktails every night) that did
The Master Cleanse a year ago to get in control of her drinking. She completed 21 days and it resulted in her now being able to limit her drinking to special occasions and she now has the ability to limit herself to 3 drinks (but usually she doesn't feel like drinking) when those special occasions occur.
She said the first three days of trying not to consume alcohol were tough and she had to go to bed extremely early to keep herself from making a cocktail, but after that, the urges were sporadic and easier to overcome.
She has been an inspiration to me as I am in the same boat. I have been perusing this forum for months, but could not imagine not coming home and popping a beer or eating. Over the holiday, I visited my family in Boston and saw my aunt who has been a severe alcoholic for years. She looked like something from a horror film (it completely changed the color of her skin).
The effects of alcohol on her were astonishing and I am on the same road if I don't get myself together. I am preparing my lemonades right now to start
The Master Cleanse tomorrow. I want to try to get a hold of my drinking, smoking and overeating.
In the event that you do choose to start, I will be happy to do it with you.
