Re: Then what's all this talk about(way back when, mind you) "God save the queen"?

"How is it humanist blame god for thier mistakes when they dont believe there is a god!"

Everybody believes in something. It's a human need to believe in something. It might be men, shopping, a football team, a celebrity, a politician, a favorite relative, baseball, cleaning, or autos. Humans are designed to believe in what makes their world more tolerable, desirable, and worth protecting. We have to stand by something. If a person does not believe in God, he is putting something or someone in God's place. There's no getting around it. It like our need for oxygen. So the question isn't Do they believe in God? But who did they replace God with. And where do their moral standards come from if not God? People today were taught by people of yesterday, they are ingrained to believe in God. They might rebel, but they know deep down that they know God is watching and judging them.
16% of the British adult population consider religion to be very important in their lives.
53% in the U.S.,
14% in France, and
13% in Germany agreed. 1

Now, the question is...Is the US's ills from religion or something else. On the other side of the coin, is the US's success as the world leader(the second best countries is far, far from us in success) from religion or something else.

Statistics can be manipulated. You can see things more than one way. The truth of the matter is religion(Christianity in particualar)has always been halmark of a great nation.

You do the math.
