there's a slight difference between philosophical truth (is there just one God? are we morally responsible for our actions?) and literal naturalistic truth (is the earth millions of years old? are all animals and humans of common descent?)

the creation Science movement comes from a reluctance of people to believe that a naturalistically false document has a philosophically true message. it takes a bit of imagination and faith to accept this, but it's not too hard. believing in bible stories or any other form of history takes some imagination, and the bible strongly encourages faith.
