A popular misconception is that candida is, in itself, "bad." Nothing could be further from the truth. It isn't about diet or Antibiotics . . . it's actually one of our best biological allies.
Candida albicans is one of many important microorganisms in the body that are termed "saprophytic," meaning it consumes dead and toxic tissue, and when it proliferates it's actually trying to help not hurt the body. Candida overgrowth problems tend to gradually lessen as the body detoxifies. This makes perfect sense because as toxicity levels decline, there should be less reason for candida to proliferate.
