3 Tablespoons Maple Syrup = Large Scoop of Ice Cream

Per the links below, 3 tablespoons of pure maple syrup contain about 40 grams of sugar, the same as a can of Pepsi. One cup of vanilla ice cream has about 30 grams sugar, and 1 cup chocolate pudding has about 34 grams. So sweetening a dish with two tablespoons maple syrup is equivalent to the Sugar content of some desserts. Some sugars might be somewhat "healthier" than others (even that's debatable), but candida yeast will feed off them just as readily. Stevia, aspartame, and saccarin (not that I'm defending using the latter...I'm just stating a fact) are not recognized or utilized by the body or yeast as sugars. But maple syrup? A Sugar fiesta for little yeasties!
