I think it is collapsing on itself since at least 250,000 people are documented killed by prescription drugs every year, and the FDA is recalling drug after drug for not doing what it's billed to do: hormone replacements, Vioxx. And theyre putting labels on drugs thought to be safe: antidepressants. It's just that everyone is pretending everything is OK so that doctors and drug companies can keep on making money off the sick people, our trusted family doctor doesn't look bad and the sick people can pretend their doctors are doing everything he can. No one wants to believe their system isn't the best, and they don't want to do the kind of homework that makes them qualified to second guess authority, except for the few who are considered treasonous to a broke system. So we're all a bunch of traitors questioning the medical establishment, until such a time as the medical establishment questions itself. But then they'll lose patients who'll realize they weren't getting the best medicine if doctors start flip flopping. Right now if you lose a patient, you can just say you gave the best medicine available. You can't say that if the alternative network starts to thrive. That's the biggest proof yet the system is failing.
