I read an article on this site a couple of days ago about something called oat bran beta glucans and how it was very beneficial to the bowels in encouraging the good bacteria. Does anybody know whether this substance is available in ordinary oats or whether you have to buy it in a special form. I am rather partial to the odd oat biscuit with lots of butter on. I am never quite sure whether it is something which I really shouldn't be eating. Do these oat biscuit contain oat bran beta glucans?
I'd be interested if anybody knows.
