I follow a strict anti candida diet: at least one salad a day and then lots of vegetables for my other meal, no sugar, very little carbs, only herbal tea etc.
I think that one of the big problems is that my bowel has not been functioning properly since I was 11 (I'm now 39). I've always had a problem with candida, I think I probably gentically predisposed to it.
When I became chronically ill in summer 2002 I did't realise what was at the root of the problem (because I'd always had bowel problems). Because of that the candida has become really invasive - I've passed threads at least a foot long.
It's all very well for people to say you shouldn't take these medications, but if you go for night after night after night with no sleep you just get absolutely desperate.
