Yes, but it might be hard to find in a grocery store, as most are pasteurized. It should be refrigerated and "not pasteurized" should be clearly stated on the label.

I have heard that it has been used somewhere in asia to cure ducks who had to avian flu.

The main bacteria is Lb. Plantarum, although it could contain other lactic-acid producing bacterias.

It also has some other compounds beneficial for the gut (Vitamin U and a little bit of glutamine).

In my opinion the taste is ok.
