Re: Sauerkraut...a probiotic?

Happydog has replied with some excellent information. Unfortunately, in my experience the commonly found lactobacteria strains have not been able to overcome my long standing case of candidasis. I ingest yorgurt, kefir from grains, and lacto fermented raw vegetables on a daily basis, believe me I get plenty of probiotic material. I am now experimenting with several "super" strains of lactobacteria. So, sauerkraut with live bacteria probably is an excellent food choice, and may help to support your general overall health, but don't expect it to blow off a well established candida overgrowth. Of course, my statements are based on my personal experience. Your case may be different and respond well to a less aggressive lactobacteria strain. I wish you good luck, and a speedy recovery to full health.
