Re: thanks Shelley!!
"I also wanted to know if I'm considered underweight. I'm 5'4" and 105lb."
Forgive me for butting in here but I just wanted to add my two cents, having listened for 40 some years to speculation about weight. I'm 5'7" and my weight varies from 120 to 135. (I don't have a scale so I weigh myself very infrequently.) I've always been told I look thin. However, I have small bones, for example my wrists are really tiny. I really noticed this when I married a man who is very big boned. I don't mean fat, I mean he has thick wrists etc, and just very big bone structure.
But when I went to a health fair a couple of years ago they did a body mass thing which determined that I had 4 extra
pounds of fat on me. OH the horror! (I asked the woman where she thought it might be hiding? I've had four children and I earned every pound, but I digress here.)
My point is - it really depends on a lot of factors like bone structure, age, amount of muscle, and other stuff. Please don't worry about your weight. It is SO irrelevant compared to whether you are eating HEALTHY and whether your eyes shine with good humor and compassion.
Way too much emotional energy is wasted on worrying about the "ideal" weight in our culture. It really doesn't matter so long as you are healthy and happy. Or like I tell my kids, "As long as you can stand on your hind legs and gripe about it."
