Okay, so I visit my dentist (a really nice lady, mother of two gorgeous girls) and she says "root canal."
I say no, pull it.
She says let me refer you to an oral surgeon.
I say no, please do it yourself.
After telling me how awful it is to lose a main molar like that, I tell her I have another one about to go so it's time for a plate or dentures. Enough is enough! :)
So she numbs me up and uses this chisel thing to break the tendons. I didn't even know gums had tendons! LOL! Then she gets out these scary looking, really heavy pliers to pull out the tooth. But the roots are holding on tight! I'm starting to think a root canal would have been simpler! LOL! She had to drill and break the tooth in half. It broke the wrong way, so she had to pull out the top of the tooth and then two more pullings got all of the roots.
Those of you who have gone thru extractions, I salute you! I never want to go thru this again! I'm going to have to come up with some way to just VAPORIZE my bad teeth! LOL!
So now I have to fast and change the gauze every 20 minutes. It's not so bad really. I'll be sure to drink a lot of protein shakes and things should heal up nicely.
Thanks for all the nice thoughts and good energy! I'm sure they helped! :)
