I just wanted to add my 2 cents to this topic...first, I went through four months of chemo, they hit me with the real bad stuff as they figured I was a gonner anyway, I still had tumors in my liver at the end of my chemo though it had helped the stomach tumor, my eyes were Greatly affected... the chemo destroys sensitive tissues ie mucas membranes first, such as those in your nose , eyes, heart etc...my tear ducts were destroyed, 2 years later my eyes blurr easily making it impossible to drive for long or read for more than a few minutes, they are constantly dry, burning and painful, I have seen specialists who all say nothing can be done, that the chemo has done to much damage. The oncologist says he has never seen a case like mine before but thats probaly because most of his stage four patients die in a few months...dead people don't complain! I don't know what chemo you are on compared to me, but be warned it is hard on the eyes. Re the cheese thing, I have eaten cheese throughout the last 3 years since diagnosis and also drank nothing but soy milk...heck I even enjoy Cheddar on occasion... I believe what should be avoided in one persons case may not be harmful in anothere's, everyone responds differently, my mother who is a healthy 84 year old scottish lady has drank whiskey and smoked all her life, and lives on fish and chips, cheese, milk and very few fresh veggies ...!!
I also want to add I just had a CT scan and visited my oncologist for the results...he cannot find Cancer anywhere in me.... he is amazed at my recovery and says I am truly Exceptional ! ( my wife tells me not to let it go to my head...lol), pretty much all I am doing is drinking my Pau d'arco and essiac, fresh juicing and use nothing but stevia for a sweetener.
I don't like the thought of growth hormones, pesticides and the like in my food, but it seems you can find something wrong with just about anything these days and organic foods etc are not always available...
Happy Easter to all,
( and a LITTLE chocolate won't kill you ... one of my Mothers favpourite sayings is " a little of what you fancy will do no harm" and you don't argue with a fiesty 84 year old 5 ft nothing Scott!!)
