We must love but sometimes loving someone means chastising them to get back onto the straight and narrow which leads to eternal life. The message must be put out somehow that being gay is not right and is not the way to go. It is a choice as I've said in another entry, just like divorce is a choice. It is all wrapped up in thou shalt not commit adultery and thou shalt not covet. Loving thy neighbour also means, even tho I choose to be gay, I'm not going to sleep with someone else who's gay because I love them too much to put my selfish desires on someone else who otherwise could be saved and changed for the betterment of their soul and God's will. The bible teaches us to "put out" those who choose to openly practice their wickedness and sin for the betterment of the church so that others who are diligent in following Christ are not corrupted by their ways. Young babes who are just born again are susceptible to falling back into worldly ways because they are not yet strong enough in the word to support themselves. They need the church to help them grow and mature in the Lord and if they're accepting to these practices, then it would be a detriment to their spiritual growth. If the church has to accept homosexuality, then they'd have to accept every other kind of abominable sin. Where would it end? We would end up with corrupt churches everywhere and there would no longer be a moral representative of God on this earth. Hate the sin, not the sinner...The sinner himself must despise his own sin and turn from it. There is no good thing in the flesh. Homosexuality is a form of perversion. Adultery is considered one of the worst sins because not only do you sin, you sin against your own body which is the temple of the holy spirit. Every other sin, you sin outside your body.
