Possibly. Sometimes the home tests are not sensitive enough to detect...especially in the case of miscariage. Home tests are specially designed to NEVER give a false positive; but because of this they can give a false negative. For example, when I had missed my period I took 2 tests and they both were negative...but when I was at the hospital they did a blood test. Those tests show exact numbers of HCG hormone present; thus why they test again to see if the numbers are going up or down--to indicate miscarraige. It can't hurt to do the home test...if it is positive then you know for sure that you are pregnant (or were pregnant). Some bleeding can happen when pregnant, but not usually heavy continual bleeding with clots. Give the home test a try and if it is positive you should go in for the HCG test to determine if it is a miscarraige or if the baby could still be saved...it could also be ectopic, (but honestly I don't get the feeling it is). If the home test is negative then you still may want to get the HCG test anyway.

On a side note, do you know your and your husband's bloodtype? In my case, I am a negative blood type and my husband is positive...this can cause your body to actually attack the baby because it sees it as something to defend against...When I had my miscariage I had to get a "rhogam" shot which prevents my body from producing anti-bodies towards the baby because untreated it can lead to infertility. I am not sure if there are any side effects to this shot or how people on this site feel about it...my miscarraige was a long time ago when I still had full faith in western medicine. My mentality now is a mix between natural and western medicines...although I feel that most doctor's do not have the best answers and can do more harm than good, I do feel that they can have some good treatments as well.
