reply from ayurvedic niam

Hi. I have been writing established institutions of Indian Medicine about this, and got this response.

It seems that the action in a petri dish isn't enough data for many of them to start flipping out just yet..

"These two species are very closely related to a western herb called St. John's Wort, which also has antiviral activity.
We do not think these new in vitro studies in Tamil nadu are that encouraging but are following their progress.
Thank you for your interest in The National Institute Of Ayurvedic Medicine.
If I can be of further assistance in any way just let me know.

With warm regards,
Paul Griffiths
