I agree with you. After all, how difficult would it be to drop some extract of this chemical into a petri dish of the herpes virus? Not in vitro of course but very easy to pull off it seems.
Statements like this frustrate me becasue if the data is ambiguous, or not in a state to be presented or has been shot down by peer review then the statement claiming the beneficial effects of broccoli should have never been made!
Or it as least should have been made more honestly..
I also feel we need to be extra careful regarding speculation of ANY study. After all, these scientists could represent the biggest broccoli farmers in the western world for all we know. Silly of course, but stranger things have happened! ;)
