Just had a severe attack

I just had my second gallbladder attack. My first one was almost a year ago. My first attack wasn't pleasant but it wasn't that bad. I did have to go to the doctor and that is when I found out I had had a gallbladder attack. Thankfully I didn't have any Gallstones just sludge. I had decided I didn't want surgery and could control it by diet. I didn't even understand why I was having trouble since I am in very good shape, 32-years-old, and never had any children.

I learned very quickly what foods affected me. I was growing tiresome of such a restrictive diet since I love to eat so much, so I did some more research and discovered birth control can cause gallbladder problems. I stopped taking my birth control in October. Within a month, I noticed a change, food wasn't affecting me anymore.

Saturday/Sunday I had a rude awakening. In the middle of a flight over the Atlantic I had a severe gallbladder attack. By the time we landed I couldn't even walk anymore from the pain and dehydration. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance and spent the next four days in the hospital in Ireland.

I just got out of the hospital last night and have spent most of the day researching gallbladder surgery. After the first attack I couldn't ever imagine having surgery and now I can't imagine not having surgery. I never want to have to go through that kind of pain ever again and especially at 36,000 feet.

I am still nervous about removing my gallbladder because I can't seem to find much on after surgery. I have had many people tell me that they had their gallbladder removed and now they can eat anything they want with no complications. For some reason I am having trouble grasping the thought that all of these people have had no complications. I would like to know what to expect after surgery.

Thanks for any input
