bowel problems in a 1 year old! (a little long)

Hi everyone,

My baby really has some bowel problems. At 6 months old, when going from nursing to adding some solids, he became very constipated . . . hemoroid and all! Doctors wouldn't listen that I knew something was wrong, they just kept telling me . . . oh its normal for a baby to go as long as 2 weeks between bm's!!! I knew it wasn't normal for my baby to scream in agony and fear when he'd try to go.

Finally at about 15 months I had a doctor willing to 'humor me' as an overprotective mom and send us to a specialist. He did tests and found my son's bowel to be completely compacted! He was only getting out what could squeeze around the compacted stool. 3 micro enemas and 12 days of senocot later he was working well.

Now he has problems again. What are some natural ways to get my baby going. It is a problem with motility. Soft or hard it don't want to move. He is bloated, like 3rd world babies (I hope that comparison doesn't offend anyone)!!! All belly. He is a petite baby, certainly not overweight and in all other respects very very healthy, but I know that will not last.

Can anyone offer any help? Thanks.
