Re: Can I use kefir for a enema?

I have read where doing a retention enema using kefir whey is effective in restoring normal bacteria to the colon. Simply inject 1/2-1 cup of warm kefir whey and retain it overnight or as long as possible. Doing a flushing enema with kefir would not do much good since the fluid would be quickly expelled. Remember flushing enemas clean the lower bowel. Retention enemas allow specific elements to work in the colon or be absorbed. Coffee retention enemas are used to clean the liver, probiotic enemas using yogurt or kefir restore flora. Retention enemas use a much smaller quantity of fluid and are kept inside you as long as possible.
