I've thought about this too and think that inside the liver and gall bladder the stones are surrounded by the bile that they are condensing out of. When they are out of us the stones are subject to breaking down from contact with air. Probably breaking down from contact with oxygen. It's more of a chemical reaction than a temperature reaction. The calcified ones are less reactive
