My brother who is now 40 has diverticolitis, and has had for about 10 years. He drinks a lot, and doesn't always eat healthily. He has recently been very ill with it, and has developed a stricture. The hospital are booking him an appointment to have it cut out. I do not know much about this illness, but to me it seems very drastic. I do know that it can come back, and the way he eats and drinks it can only be a matter of time. Is there any way of him avoiding surgery? Would cleansing help this do you think? They are not sure what the stricture consists of, but it is causing a partial blockage that is causing terrible pains, and he is loosing weight fast. They have given him something to keep him regular, and that is working for now. I know if it were me, I would be looking into all the alternatives, but he seems quite prepared to go down this hospital/operation route.
