I simply want to underscore what pattiecake and others have said. The colonoscopy itself was nothing...zero...and not remembered.

As others have said, the GoLytely that you drink before the procedure is a bit unpleasant....but not awful. I think they have improved the formula. It's just kinda salty. I got a great tip from my nurse friend. Sip the liquid through a straw. That way it gets past your tastebuds before they notice. LOL

When I got to the clinic, I received a shot, got into my gown and entered the examining room. I got up on the examining table, the doctor came in and introduced himself and the nurse started an IV in my arm. She said, "You might have a brief metallic taste in your mouth." The second that statement was out, I was out. I woke up in the recovery room and was told that I was free to leave in another 20 minutes. My friend who drove me couldn't believe I was dressed and ready to go home. She thought she had returned from her errand in plenty of time.

It will be fine...and you might learn something really important.
