Well, upon reflection of your comments about why the MD's really need to do a biopsy, when their method of treatment would probably fail to cure my condition, I realized why I want to do it.
It's for me, and my state of mind. I really want to know what condition my liver is in. I just don't want to go through another painful procedure at the hands of insensitive, non-empathetic, yupsters who are eager to practice on me. I had arthroscopy done on my left knee a number of years ago, and as I was still recovering from the surgery in my hospital room in a semi-conscious state, I witnessed the operation (it was filmed). Horror of horrors, I actually heard my MD (Orthopedic Surgeon) narrating the procedure as it was happening, and saying, "Now Dr. So-in-so is doing this-or-that to Mr. Cerph's knee, etc." Good Lord! I don't remember giving permission to this guy to have someone else do the surgery! Most likely it was an intern. This really happened!
