I guess i must slightly disagree with you. I believe that there certainly are people out there who can do almost anything to their bodies without any serious effects but I think the point is that we shouldnt compare. You have got your life laid out in front of you while others have theirs and things happen at their own pace and different things happen to different people. So since you have your own path in front of you dont feel bitter that others have another. Whats more important I believe its whats going on inside these people- do you believe that they are truely happier because they get drunk regularly. Self harming behaviour just shows your true inner attitude you have towards yourself and I find it hard to believe that they really enjoy that on a deeper level. There is a nice relieving feeling and true happiness when you find pleasure in taking GOOD care of your body and realising you do not need to hurt yourself to have a good laugh. I dont believe there is a pay day somewhere in the future (even though sometimes thats true too) but I believe the payday is right at the moment when you feel better and calmer and happier then someone who can hardly bear reality with a sober mind.
