Cammy - re raising your body temp. I have hypothyroidism too (low body temp) and have recently been reading a lot of good reports about virgin coconut oil raising body temps. I think there is a coconut oil forum here - you might check that out. I do notice an increase in my energy from taking it and I am only wearing one sweater around the house instead of my usual three. :)
A note on iodine - I went to a herbalist last summer and she put a drop of lugols iodine on my arm and told me that was one of the best way to use it. According to her, the body absorbs what it needs. And the faster the iodine disappears from your skin, the more your body needs it.
