The book does mention that the
Master-Cleanse can be used when being overweight has become a problem. But, I agree with Rowan, the MAIN purpose is for detox. The
Master-Cleanse is a GREAT start for those who have plans to lose weight/change eating habits subsequent to the cleanse simply because you're cleaning ALL of the junk out. Plus, it gives one the mindset to begin changing the eating habits later. The best way to lose weight is not to diet, but to adopt an eating plan for life. I would recommend eating 5-6 small meals per day. Eat every 2-3 hours. At least 2 of the meals should contain veggies. Example:
Breakfast @ 7a - Wheat Toast w/all fruit jam + 3 egg whites (1 could have the yolk)
Snack @ 9a - Non-fat Yogurt + Cottage Cheese
Lunch @ 11a - Grilled Chicken/Fish + Green Beans + Rice Pilaf
Snack @ 1p - Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich
Dinner @ 4-5p - Repeat similar lunch meal
Snack @ 7-8p - Protein Bar/Smoothie
Exercise @ least 6 days per week. Alternate between cardio and weights. Cardio must be @ least 20 minutes @ certain intensity level. Weights for 45 minutes.
One day per week is a cheat day - don't exercise, eat whatever you want. This is good for the body!
In other words, EAT and EAT OFTEN to LOSE TONS OF WEIGHT!
