Regarding tinctures in an alcohol base, a vet told me to put the opened bottle upright in a pot of water, bring to boil, turn off heat. Leave bottle there for five minutes. This should have evaporated the alcohol. Always store the bottle in the fridge now, since it hasn't got the alcohol for preservative any more.
