Hey there, sorry about missing your question....my apologies. Sometimes these threads get very long and I sort of give myself the "mintes" to catch up. Tonight I'm perusing and ...there's this question. Sorry about not getting back to you sooner.
"aside from the words "total power over me" and my "master", which do seem just a tad much (maybe it's just semantics or something), I thought that most women enjoyed pleasing their husbands in every possible way. I thought that was the norm and everything else "alternative".
Well, I think most women today [only conjecture on my part-don't lose your minds, now] are really unsure of what "equality" means to them. Equality is seen by many at such an "individual" level and not as an ingredient to a greater force at large. To me, it's about "synergy." We have it or we don't. If I can celebrate who I am and my femininity, than [in my opinion] a man should be content with his masculinity and taking pride in [pardon the pun] being a man. I do see whimpy men and it makes me shudder. This is not to say that I have the prescription to happiness and nobody else does, mind you. I/we just have our own arrangement and it is "alternative."
I would recommend anyone even curious about this lifestyle check out some great reading either on-line or in print and talk to some real lifestyle people. It seems like this question [to me,anyway] is as vague as saying "Why do you call yourself an American?" Well, there's just so many tangents to this answer...I feel it almost impossible to explain. I can tell you that there is an enormous amount of depth to such relationships and an enormous amount of both respect and commitment. These sound so everyday and trite but they really are so significant, present and truly honored in this lifestyle. A slave is ideally cherished and a Master/Mistress the same. There simply is no other greater love, adoration or regard found anywhere [unless we're talking about my dogs *LOL] Seriously though, it is an amazing lifestyle to experience if you are careful and know yourself very, verrrry well. otherwise, like anything else, people can be hurt or misinformed.
