I never understood why people would eat the liver either!
In the Old World, doctors and loved ones alike encourage pregnant women to eat liver.
After I vacuum my carpet and it looked clean to me, I see the filter and imagine all the parasitic eggs, germs and dust mites and I think- filter= debris and toxic garbage.

Break this old habit! Yuckee

Also, blood does not sound too far away either.
