Karen, I agree with you. I tried it and it really helps to take one table sodium bicarbonate before bed. THe sodium bicarbonate helps to keep the acid under control. It is suggested to take 3 tablespoon dayly, but for me it is very difficult, because you have to take it 1 hour before eating or 2 hours after meal.
