Unfortunately in my experience I must say it doesn't work that way.
You will see why when you get a bit older. I became aware of my problem at around 10-11. Then highly aware at 17-18. Then super aware at 18-20. Then things cooled a little because once you get out of school/college you're no longer a laughing stock.
The way humans work is we build experience and then act upon it. When you get enough of uncomfortable situations in your life you will almost subconsciously try to avoid them.
So, you can pretend like you don't have bb but only for so long. After a while when disappointment builds up you won't be able to do it no more.
It's also part of growing up.. you became more aware of yourself and your impact (positive or negative) on people. More you became aware more you hurt inside and try to avoid that feeling. Its unavoidable.
But Im sure there will be others saying otherwise.
