When you marry, you are to bind yourself together as a family. Decisions are made within the new family unit.
How many decisions do you expect ought to descend to the parents instead of the married unit? In lack of a good decision, should your parent's decide where you live? What schools your children go to? The names of your children?
Don't dismiss this as ridiculous, there are cultures where parents retain these sorts of rights into adulthood and marriage.
You may not LIKE the decisions of the husband. But to support an attack on the married state in general, by supporting the state's forward assault on marriage, you cross the line of wanting your moral revulsion to change legal and moral fundament of your nation and culture over ONE PERSON to the detriment of all.
