How long to fast

wow, a bit confused. i hear about 5-7 day fast, 30 day, 40 day. Is that 40 days and no food? When people do start eating. What kind of food are they able to tolerate. I read dairy, bread, fruit and veggies are difficult???? What else is there? Tweet
