This is what I do

I would fill up a large fruit-juice jug with water (about half a gallon) and keep it by the sink and pour a few glasses of it to drink every few hours or whenever I saw it. I'd drink all of that and then re-fill it again part way through the day. So that'd be about a gallon of water.
