Re: Verbal abuse in relationships

I have to disagree that verbal abuse is more destructive that physical abuse. I can imagine healing from verbal abuse of any kind a lot easier that healing from being killed. Sorry for the sarcasm. This an area that I can speak about....because I do have first hand knowledge about it. I have been in shelters. I have taken classes.

Verbal abuse is a precursor to physical abuse. It begins with control of some type and progresses. Maybe just a comment ......the man is jealous.....then it goes on and one....and gets progressively worse.

The solution is to learn what the red flags are, and when you see them in a man, get away and stay away from him. "Loving him more" will not "cure him". He is sick. You are not his shrink.
