As for the question of whether or not protein is bad for people with Acne the straight answer is no. Protein from a clean source is not bad for you. It is the casein protein in dairy products that seems to have a glue/clogging effect on the lymphatic and cleansing systems of the body and therefore is bad for Acne sufferers. The best test is to not eat any of these products and see if there is improvement for your skin. Your best bet for clean protein sources is free range chicken or other poultry. People have differing opinions about red meats, and that would probably be up to you. Fish is good except for the mercury risk. You probably don't need as much protein as you think you do. THe shakes are often high in soy based or milk based proteins which I would not suggest. You are best to eat a diet high in fresh fruits and vegetables ( which will also have some protein in them) and then add a few 2-4 oz servings of chicken protein a couple of times a day. But ony stick with what seems to work for you. It doesn't matter what anyone else suggests if it doesn't seem to work for you! Good luck.
