I have read a lot of possible causes and cures for Acne here. And frankly a little overwhelmed by it all. I am 28 years old, from India, living in the US, vegetarian and have moderate Acne with red persistent spots. I have done 2 liver flushes, drink the lemonade, have eliminated wheat and rice ( my staple diet), started taking Clarkia , drink P & B shake once a day and been consuming only sweet potatoes, apples, onion, spinach, olive oil, pears, celery, carrots, cucumbers.. Also started taking Flax seed oil since yesterday. I dont see any dramatic improvements. But I havent had any new breakouts since the last 2 weeks since I discovered this site.Also the my right cheek and jawline have cleared while the left side shows no visible improvements. I read somewhere here about specific things that some people do and it seems to help them - like applying tea tree oil, lavender oil,taking flax seed oil and other sundry supplements and vitamins - like zinc or VitA or Beta-carotene.. It seems overwhelming.. Is a lack of some nutrient the cause of Acne or is the presence of toxins in the body the real cause? Need one do a flush or take the necessary supplements? Whats the best strategy to attack acne?
