Every once in a while I'll do "Sugar In the Raw" in my coffee.
Your body runs on sugar, the key is to consume different forms than our bodies so that it doesn't hit the bloodstream all at once.
I've never had Sugar cravings-so I indulge every once in a while on sweet things. I prefer honey or malt. Red ant larva is a Native American 'trick'. Also powdered dried fruit is great. Nothing beats sprinkling berries over cereal or pancakes.
Honey may be substituted into any recipe halving the amount of Sugar and full sub of fat/oil. For example: if recipe calls for 1 Cup Sugar and 1/2 Cup Oil-just use 1/2 Cup Honey.
The safest 'artificial' sweeteners with little carb/low glycemic index is Erythritol (Eridex), Stevia leaf, and Vegetable Glycerin. DON'T USE ANY OTHER SYNTHETIC SWEETENERS. Unfortunately American Sorbitol & Xylitol is synthetic. Originally they came from Mt. Ash(Rowan) and Birch syrup respectively.
Note that white table sugar is chemically related to cocaine. Get the picture ;)
There exists a tropical fruit that after you eat it, anything you eat for 1 hour tastes cloyingly sweet.
