Jaundice is very common in India - I had it when I was 20. It is related to the liver. So until it is cured, abstain from all fats - no oils, butter or ghee.. and no spices.. eat bland kitchri with buttermilk and take plenty of rest. That should take care of it. I remember taking Liv52 tablets when I had it.. My family allopathic doctor actually told me that Allopathy has no useful treatment to offer and referred me to see a local dairyman who sold yogurt for a living and also gave Ayurvedic medicines for free!! He gave me some powder to take with buttermilk for a week and I was fine. Jaundice IS contagious, so stay away from your friend!!! I caught it from someone at my college and then I gave to my brother!!! I believe that as with most diseases of the stomach and GI, neem will help in Jaundice as well - but you really should refer to a good Ayurvedic doctor for a robust defense against jaundice.
