Your own chickens... what luxury! I have been experimenting with an alkaline diet. Lots of greens, nuts and seeds, 'wild' grains (amaranth, wild rice, quinoa, millet), sprouts, fruit, and occasional wild game. Seems to work very well for me, lots of energy. I am mostly N. European, with a little French Canadian / American Indian admixture. I try to stay away from the suppliments, get my "C" from the citrus and greens, except for B12 because my meat intake is so sporadic.
