Re: Ouch!! criticism from spouse re diet & cleansing

Unfortunately, I can empathize with your situation. Though, I think your husband eats better than mine does.

We have gotten into so many arguements about healthy food. I really want him to eat healthily and be healthy, but our arguements generally revolve around food that is in our house because we have two small children. If he wants to poison himself with diet sodasor junk foods, then so be it, but he should not have it available for the kids to eat/drink.

We now have mostly good foods in the house, and my husband at least tries to hide the foods he must have that I don't think the children should eat. But, this has come at a high price to our relationship, I think.

I get so frustrated because I feel like everything I say gets ignored. My husband goes to cook something and uses tap water, and when I tell him not to, I am seen as crazy or extreme. But I cannot help to make a comment because I don't want the children ingesting that; they get enough crap at school and out with friends.

Also, my husband's health is not so great either. He is likely heading for back surgery soon. Though he did do a 2-day pineapple juice fast with me a few months ago and started to try to eat healthier, once his doctor suggested surgery could "fix him up", I think he really gave up on trying to heal himself.

I can tell you that I feel really lonely in our relationship sometimes. Though I don't have to hide my herbs or anything, I feel like I am being criticized every time I try something new and it is very frustrating. I remember the first time I did a liver flush, my husband referred to it as "killing myself". Though, I think he feels the same way - that he is being criticized when he eats something I think is bad. So it just leads to a lot of tension all around.

Also, I feel resentful because I feel like he is messing up his health himself, and then I will be the one who has to take care of him when/if he cannot take care of himself and I don't think that's very fair.
