Hi, We've had our three dogs on a raw diet for about four months and it is so much easier than any other way we've fed them. We've done the traditional kibble but upon doing research couldn't justify feeding it any longer because of the health risks. Also, dogs are carnivores and do not digest carbohydroates.
Since feeding raw, the tarter on their teeth is gone, their coats are thicker and glowing and their overall health apears to have improved.
We only feed once a day now. We had been feeding them twice a day but they are filled up with just eating in the a.m.
We feed them mainly chicken quarters, beef liver, pigs feet, beef trachera. We are looking for sources for a wider variety in their diet although they are doing well on this.
The preparation is: give the dog a raw chicken hindquarter and let them eat. Faster than scooping out the kibble. We have a freezer so we stock up when we find meat on sale and find that feeding raw costs about the same as feeding a good quality kibble.
